Distant Supervision for classifying the sentiment of Twitter messages using MLlib

The fundamental idea of sentiment classification used in this work is predicated on overcoming the challenges incurred from hand-labeling training data for supervised learning problms. This work - with source code included here is a trimmed down prototype an actual client project from my time at the Wynyard Group.
